1. Name: Caitlin.
2. Age: twenty-two.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? This is sad, but I, honestly, have no idea. I've yet to go or hear of somewhere that just "screams" me. I've lived in Arkansas my entire life, and, while I like it, I definitely want to move and see what else is out there for me. I went to New York City over the summer and really enjoyed that, but I doubt I could actually live in that environment for an extended period of time...and you just can't beat that Southern Hospitality. I've always really liked Dallas, but, reall, I have no clue. I'm more than a bit indecisive, you'll notice.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? It wouldn't matter what it looked like really, just as long as it was big enough for me and my friends to congregate comfortably. I'd need a place for our favorite band to play, room to dance, a bunch of comfortable chairs, and some alcohol...and we'd be golden. We always get together at a local bar every Thursday to listen to music and have a good time; it'd be nice to have a place to do it every day of the week.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Umbridge. She's the one "baddie" that just can't be redeemed in any way. Sure, Voldemort isn't exactly loveable, but I'm willing to bet he's certifiably insane. Snape was teased relentlessly as a kid. Even Draco showed fear in Half-Blood Prince. But Umbridge disgusts me. She's the reason I wanted to throw Order of the Phoenix across the room multiple times. She's vile and sadistic...and a frilly dresser. It doesn't get much worse than that.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? It depends. If it's full and you drink half of it, it's half-empty. If you only fill the glass halfway, it's half-full. Obviously.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
They're both completely unrelated, but things I feel strongly about, all the same:
"It seems we're living the American dream.
But the people highest up got the lowest self esteem.
The prettiest people do the ugliest things
For the road to riches and diamond rings." --Kanye West
--
"How she'd be soothed, how she'd be saved if he could see,
She needs to be held in his arms to be free.
But everything happens for reasons that she will never understand.
Till she knows that the heart of a woman will never be found in the arms of a man." --Vanessa Carlton
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Almost always my family, especially when it comes to my grandparents. My family isn't really into showing emotions. We're not a vocal "I love you/I miss you." kind of family. So spending time with them and being with them physically is really important to me. When my extended family comes to town for holidays and gatherings, I always tell my friends I'll be busy for that weekend. My parents, brother, and sister-in-law (who I see on a daily and weekly basis) are a different story, of course.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? It's really hard to choose, but when I was 5, my mom signed me up for ballet lessons because I never sat still. I was extremely shy then (not at ALL anymore, though) and was scared to death of doing anything new and different. But ballet was a different story. I loved it...you could say I became obsessed with it, really. My first recital was the highlight of my six-year-old life. As far as I was concerned, it was my show and everyone was watching me. When I got on that stage, my shyness disappeared completely and I danced my heart out. The first time I felt that rush of being on stage flipped a switch, and I really think that's when I started to come out of my shell.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I'm notorious for saying "yes." If someone needs my help, I almost always give in. I've gotten a bit better lately, but, in high school and college, I always had too much on my plate. I always want to please everyone and make sure everyone is all right. In turn, I usually get walked all over because people know I'll just deal with it. It's a bit sad, really. But then again, employers really like that quality, I guess.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Yes and no. I would have, absolutely, been against Voldemort and his supporters. However, I'm not exactly the epitome of bravery. In fact, I think I'm a pretty big scaredy cat. If it came down to a life or death situation, I would have helped and tried to fight. Otherwise, I think I'm more of a cheerleader than a player.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I thrive and work well in stressful situations. In fact, when I was in college, I would purposely leave papers until the last minute. I've been known to write three 5 page papers in one night and get A's on them. This "process" has come around and kicked me in the ass a few times, of course. I had my first-ever mental breakdown last year as a result of too much procrastination. I wouldn't say I've learned my lesson, though.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Compassion, absoulutely. Now that I've graduated and am slowly making it out into the "real world," I've been hit with the reality that people (especically when it comes to working in a business environment) are mean. I've never understood how a person could be purposely rude to someone else for no reason. Family, of course, is a different story, but when it comes to co-workers and customers it's just sad. I'm not saying I'm the nicest person in the world, but I try to be pleasant to every person I talk to during the day. I'll stop there; I'm beginning to sound like an episode of Seventh Heaven or something equally as cheesy.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? A child at heart, absolutely. I love cracking jokes and being silly. There's no point in living without laughter. I don't take myself too seriously, and I think that's crucial in being a happy person. I worked at with kids during most of my time in college, and I think that really helped to keep me young at heart.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? I've always been voted (in sorting communities) as a Ravenpuff. I think that my want to be fair (and pleasant) to everyone is the Hufflepuff side. I've never considered myself intelligent so the Ravenclaw is a bit of mystery for me. My grades were never horrible, but they usually weren't above average, either. I never really applied myself in school, but people always assumed I was really smart. I think I'm just fooling people without trying.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
We're going old skool.
Elton and I are likethis.

College graduation. (I'm the one the one pointing.)
