Opportunities
A crisis should not go to waste. I think the disaster in the Gulf presents tremendous opportunity for Obama administration. A well-organized national effort when people and businesses can sponsor clean-up teams can do a lot to make people feel that they work with their government and have a voice. All we need is a convenient app and the money and people would flow. The government just needs to sit on the beach and provide coordination and safety. Same for the studies of environmental impact and alternative energy sources - disasters mobilize and there is plenty of extra hands and money in the country. Utopia!?
