TIVO II: This Time Its Personal

The TIVO Saga Continues:

I got the TIVO on Tuesday night.  I got the wireless router on Wednesday.  It is now Friday and still no TIVO.  After 2 chats with TIVO support and 4 phone calls with my ISP I am still no closer to setting up the TIVO.  I keep getting error messages like the DHCP server could not be located.

TIVO has told me to basically get a phone line or a different ISP.
My ISP says that it seems to be sorta ok on their end.  They have assigned me an IP address and say I have connected to the network.

I'm using an internet service provider(etowah river) through my apartment complex. That means I don't have a router in my apartment.  Also I have to use a username and password when I want to connect to the internet on my computer.  My ISP has taken my MAC address and added it to their system.

I'm at my wits end.  I am ready to switch to comcast because i know it will work that way.  Also my ISP doesn't really understand TIVO but he knows that people in the apartment complex are using it.  Bill, the tech guy, is super nice and helpful but I need a manual from the ISP I think to help me or to get the specs from someone else in my apartment complex using TIVO.

It is all so frustrating.
