so... i'm doing a friend a favor on the 27th. i'm going to my old department's police banquet/ball type thing because my friend is up for detention officer of the year and she didn't want to take a guy? i'm not even sure what this is, but it means i have to be on my suit and tie shit that evening. she was all like "i know you don't necessarily want to be around those assholes, but we don't have to stay the whole time..." plus i've never been to one of these deals. i always skipped the signal balls when i was in the army, and i always volunteered to work the saturday of the police ball/banquet so other people could attend it. yes, this probably means i'll be forced to listen to some blue lives matter bullshit, but the things i do for friends. she's been really supportive of my quitting that whole LEO thing to go to school and chase my dreams, so i can sit through some bullshit for one night. besides, as fwtallgirl pointed out on the way home from deadpool, i can be all like "what do i care; i don't work here anymore!" (okay, so we might have actually been singing that.)
