Don't eat what the other scientists prepare in the community kitchen of the ARC. Scientists can't cook. They can mix chemicals and come up with theories and hypotheses and they will always try to prove things and collect things - but they can't cook.
If one of the special ops soldiers cooks, that's usually alright, but spicy. Soldiers are good at following instructions, and that apparently includes recipes. If you eat there for the first time, numb your tongue with Listerine beforehand. They will test you and serve your dish extra hot. Laugh and tell them it tastes a bit bland.
