and we let it drown us,
and we fly to it released
by giant catapults
of pain loneliness deceit and vanity
Dan comes home one night and there is no light and no sound and nothing that would indicate anyone has been home all day. He walks into the kitchen to pour himself some coffee, but the machine isn't on. The can is empty.
The living room is strangely empty. Still cluttered and clashing colors and filthy with things. Something important is going on and Dan is about to miss it. There is something missing. When the realization comes, it is startling and unexpected. The essence is gone. The soul. The House of-
