Dan really tried to listen to what Claire was talking about. It was hard because he wasn't really interested in what she had to say. He nodded in the pauses. She had a zit on her forehead, close to the hairline. He took another sip of his coffee.
"It'll only be for a few days," Claire said then. Dan made a non-descript grunting sound. It was alright with him, whatever 'it' was.
"Besides, he's letting me work at his office, right? So-" she drifted off. "He promised to be nice to Jones."
Wait, what? No. Nonono. This couldn't be happening.
