Author's Notes: Set during Season Two.
Summary: The first time that Max and Alec kiss.
The first time that they kissed had been an accident. It had been a rainy night and dawn was just turning the black Seattle sky to a pearly grey. They had been out all night trying to keep a transgenic out of White’s reach. Max was feeling the exhilaration of a job well done when Alec had suddenly turned to face her. Her exhilaration quickly soured when he had pushed her up against the brick wall and had crowded her. Before she could push him away and ask him what he thought he was doing, he answered her.
“One of White’s agents is over there,” Alec hissed, “Pretend like you’re enjoying this.”
Max gave a brief nod as she wrapped his arms around him as he leaned down. They both moved at the same time and instead of a pretend kiss, their lips made contact. Suddenly what had only been a show became very real. Max gave a small sigh as Alec traced her lower lip with his tongue. She opened her mouth and he deepened the kiss. When they broke apart, the agent was long gone, and Max was breathless while Alec was flushed.
“I think it’s safe now,” Alec mumbled.
“Yeah, I have to, uhm, go now,” Max struggled to say.
”Me too.”
They didn’t look back as they went their separate ways; they were both too shaken by the kiss that they had just shared.
