They said no formal vows, there was no proper ceremony, she didn't wear white and neither of them stood up to give speeches. There were no witnesses, they saw no reason for there to be. Not for this union that would never be recognized by any church or government. Not for the three of them.
Instead they took a holiday to Wales, visited old friends and family of Bran's and one fine, if slightly windy, afternoon took a walk through the hills and dales until they reached the perfect spot. They could almost believe they were the only people in the world when standing there together, arms around each other as breeze played across their faces. They held a picnic lunch, talked until it was almost dusk and hurried back as it turned dark.
If anyone noticed the three matching bands when they returned, no one said a word.
