It's always been odd for them to be close together and yet they like it. It's not exactly smiled upon for an angel and a demon to... well, live together. Sort of. Though they didn't really live together, they just shared space now and then.
Aziraphale lets some of Crowley's things clutter his bookshop, and he only gets mildly peeved and tidies them up if he's fallen over them one too many times. And Crowley lets Aziraphale keep his things annoyingly tidy on one of his shelves, and those are the small signs of intimacy that might give them away. Perhaps.
