This might possibly be the geekiest moment of my life.
I flew to Toronto for ten days, to visit and sight-see but mostly to meet up with some of my oldest friends, all of whom I met (and have known exclusively) through the internet. We met on Neopets. This is not the geekiest part yet.
So we're all in Toronto, we're wandering around and checking out the place. We walk through this park (this might be the only ungeeky part), and it's kind of late in the day, so the sunlight is long and golden. The park has some foliage cover, so the sunlight only shines through in spots. In one of these patches is a newspaper, and the sunlight is almost straight above it-it really only illuminates the newspaper and the pollen above it, and around it is just dark open grass.
I pointed over and said, "Hey look, it's a quest item."
And everyone understood.
