EXTENDED KATSUCON REPORT!!!!
Thursday:
Woke up feeling sickly. Managed to get on the road at a decent hour after skulking the UPS guy for much needed cosplay things that came at the last minute. Took longer than I thought with all the lights and GETTING PULLED OVER! Speeding ticket thy name is Tori. Craaaaaaaaaaaap. Got into the hotel no problem and met up with Charles and Alex. Got my badge and went out to dinner with Evan, Angela,Rick,Mandy, Charles and their buddy. It was nice just hanging out, felt good.
Friday:
Got up, hung about for a while, then changed into VK stuffs. I love my jacket. It rocks and yes, I’ll tell you when I find out where I got those metal things for the jacket Angela! As soon as I remember! Got a few pics, then changed into Reborn things, I love my wig. Can’t wait to see pics. Walked around a bit and helped with the hall costume contest. Then I went to the dance off, where Rick and Kiba Rob were judges. I think it was pretty close, but the Pirates won. After that it was pizza and relaxation. Snagged a Kiyal and Mukuro figurine, as well as Fruits Basket 22, early release. Sweet.
Saturday:
Woke up, got ready for my private Soul Eater shoot. It was cold but we got some good shots. I am very happy with it. Rested and hung out in the dealer’s room. Bummed around a bit and caught up with a few people. It was so great just to chill out and not worry about the craziness. Saw the Masquerade and it was great! Shelby’s skit was so awesome! So glad they won an award.

Axis Power Hetalia skit- I squealed like a demented fangirl for this one. I so cannot wait to cosplay Greece, its not even funny.

The Pokemon one (it was great,OMG, I loved it)
Then it was the costume awards. There were so many good ones, these people are very talented. Felt kinda drained the rest of the evening so I crashed out.
Sunday:
A bittersweet day. Hung about, had lunch with Charles, Callie, Mandy and others. Got my Genshiken Box Set. Sweetness. Wandered around saying goodbye to people. Gah, I hate Sunday, it makes me sad the dream is ending. Left pretty late and texted Callie a lot. She is crazy, kinda in a good way, but okay. Spent the night at my mom’s and chilled. I missed my mom. Hadn’t seen her since Christmas so I was glad to spend time with her.
Monday:
Since I had the day off, I decided to bum around a bit before leaving. Then it happened. My brother was screwing around with his air rifles, aims it at my mom. He misses and hits me in the neck. IN MY NECK. I start bleeding and my mom rushes me to the ER. They examine me, poke me, drug me and give me a CT, its deep in my neck and they can’t get it out. My neck is starting to swell and I can feel the pellet in my throat as I swallow. Give me a tetanus shot and send me home with a surgeon’s number. Called out to work. It hurts like hell.
Tuesday:
I tried to call the surgeon, but his number is no good. I drive back to Norfolk and my father takes me to the ER. They give me more drugs, another CT and see that its still deep in my neck muscle and I need surgery. They also add another insult to injury and find a growth on my thyroid gland. I need an ultrasound to make sure its not malignant. Oh great. Just great.
And the worst part is, my brother isn’t even sorry. He is paying my medical bills and lost wages, but he doesn’t seem like he shows remorse. I kinda wanted to press charges but my mom convinced me not to. I am starting to think it was a mistake. I have to be on pain meds for a week until my surgery date comes up. I am not happy. A great con, mostly drama free, damaged by this course of events.
I am going to take my antibiotics now.
