My alarm went off at 3:45 a.m. I picked up Diane and was at the boat by 4:30 a.m. to let the cast in by 5:00. They were on the morning news of our local Fox station. We did four 15-20 second "teasers" followed by four two minute segments. I was in charge of organizing the cast, selecting the pieces, choosing two people to be interviewed, and loading an appropriate lighting cue for the number. We did pretty well. For one piece I had to creatively morph two songs together in a way we don't actually perform them and stage it using people that are normally changing costumes backstage. It was fun. We were done about 8:15 (they taped the last segment). It's amazing what you can accomplish by 9am when you start your day before the sun rises!
Yesterday was my only day off this week due to the news event this morning. I took it easy -- I'm almost done with
the fifth (and final) book of Christian Jacq's Ramses series. I'm enjoying them, though I find some details annoying. It could be the translation in some way, but it's interesting to read a fictionalized history that's so detailed.
In the afternoon, I took Anderson's younger sister and Diane up to Blaine for our soccer game. We were finally playing the team that has lost their first two games 8-0! They're a bit more our speed (we've lost 5-2 and 5-0). We beat them 4-2. Angelica couldn't be in goal because we didn't have enough girls. She probably could have saved at least one of those. Diane hasn't been able to come to the first two games, so she was in rough shape (much like me the first week!). I paced myself and didn't push so hard since my pulled muscle was mostly better, but a bit stiff. Better safe than sorry. Also fun was that Anderson has worked in the morning, so he came to watch us play. It's nice to have a reason to be outside and running around. I might go the YWCA to run one day this week when we don't have two shows (Wed/Fri). Those long days are just draining!
