The son becomes the father. The father becomes the son

I just got finished watching Superman 2 and wow...it was really funny. I really liked it. And I think it was a good idea to make "Superman Returns" take place 5 years after the sequel. Terence Stamp was awesome, but I couldn't stop thinking of him as Bernadette, and the image of General Zod in drag (kneel before the Queen!) And now I have to watch the 3rd Superman movie, which doesn't seem like it fits in, but I guess we shall see, or at least i will. I haven't really read up on Superman 3 yet. All I know is that he goes to his high school reunion and sees Lana Lang. I know that Richard Pryor is in it and Robert Vaughn(yay) as well, who is described in Total Film magazine as a poor man's Lex Luthor(heh).

Throughout Superman Returns, especially the last half, I kept seeing Superman as a Jesus figure. My mom noticed it in the trailer and just rolled her eyes, but I think that is pretty much the mythology behind Superman or at least waht it has become...and if not Jesus specifically, a savior in general.

There was a lady on Scarborough Country, who was talking about Superman Returns and said that it sends the wrong messages and values that are usually affiliated with Superman. Like, going away for 5 years and leaving Lois to be a single mother. She also called Lois a slut, and Superman a wimp. But, I don't care..I still enjoyed the movie and I like the story, and I hope, if they make another superman movie, that it is just as good. I thought Brandon Routh did a very good job and, of course, I loved Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.(much excitement when I found out that Kevin Spacey..my favorite actor, was going to play Lex Luthor..awesomest villian ever!):):):) I really really enjoyed Superman Returns and I think that Bryan Singer did an excellent job with it, after more than a decade of trying to bring Superman back to the big screen.
