Hospitals SUCK!

Acute pancreatitis is rapidly-onset inflammation of the pancreas. Depending on its severity, it can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment. While mild cases are often successfully treated with conservative measures or laparoscopy, severe cases require invasive surgery (often more than one intervention) to contain the disease process.

So John Ryan is back in the hospital and he has now been diagnosed with the above illness.  So just to re-cap; he had a tumor removed from his jaw and they ended up REPLACING the whole lower jaw with bone taken from his leg (there is a ROD there now!), he is deaf in one ear, he had a “mini” heart attack and now he is suffering from PANCREATITIS.  He is a hot mess in other words.  He says that he is going to be fine but it is a bit scary anyway.  I am not going to keep repeating the same things with it but it is like every time he gets better something else happens and he falls back again.  I just don’t want him to give up or stop fighting.  I mean I don’t think that would happen but he has had a really rough month to say the least.

My Uncle is in the hospital as well.  He has emphysema and has had it for some time now but that doesn’t make it any better.  He looks so thin and frail that I feel bad for him.  He isn’t hungry though so it is hard for him.  I hope that he comes home in time for Thanksgiving, that side of the family is really small and we don’t get together as much as we should since we are all local more or less and I always LOVE the holidays because it means that we get to see each other and catch up or just watch a movie or whatever but we do it together and that means a lot.
