The Planet Smashers (and other bands) 6-22-04
Great show. The first time I saw them was at the Ska is Dead tour,. I went to see the again at a show I might normally would't have attended. They were opening for the Aquabats. I enjoyed the aquabats attitude and funny costumes, but in my opinion they just couldn’t compare to their opening acts. The planet smashers, like last time, put on a spectacular performance. Opening for them was 'danger woman'. Her act is basically karaoke, with some changed lyrics. She is a self-proclaimed superhero. And she totally kicks ass. Outside she was yelling at people with her unusually and squeaky (but not annoying) voice, to stop smoking. I bought a tape from her. You don't see cassette tapes being sold too much anymore, it was nice. Besides I only had five dollars, and her cds were six.
I was generally unsatisfied with how the pictures came out. The venue was great, expect for the unbearable heat. However, it didn't have quite enough lighting. My camera, a second rate digital-camera that was given to me on my birthday, is not equipped with the proper flash for concerts. Besides that fact, I am often reluctant to flash out of respect for the band and the crowd. I have no real knowledge of photoshop, but I bravely attempted to clean up some of the pictures. I figured out via the ‘help’ feature how to increase the lighting. Some of the pictures I cropped and/or made lighter, others were left alone.
