About ten years ago when I was first reading ST fics I remember there were fic sites that had TNG material on them. I remember because I carefully navigated around everything that wasn't Kirk/Spock.. A few years ago I read this great DS9 gen fic...it was really long and well-written and plotted. There was a big battle around Bajor and the good guys had very little resources.
