“Jess?”
Jess scrambled quickly to her feet from where she’d been sprawled on the floor. She brushed off her orange skirt, cheeks flaming red.
“Yes, Becker?”
He raised his brow. “Why are you on the floor?”
Blue eyes went back to the A.D.D. “There’s something wrong with my chair.”
“With your chair?” Sure enough, when Becker looked, it seemed that the back of the chair was no longer attached to the seat. Bending next to it, he found the source of the problem. “The screws are missing.”
“Well, I certainly didn’t do it.” Jess crossed her arms before looking over Becker’s shoulder. “This isn’t a good time, Danny.”
Becker turned. There was a grin on his lover’s lips. Suspicions aroused, back turned to Jess, he tilted his head to the side and fixed Danny with his best, ‘What have you done now?’ look.
“I just thought you might need this.” Oh, there was pride on his face, clear as day. Danny held out his hand and opened his palm, revealing a screwdriver.
It was going to be a long day.
