Festival of the Rose (oh Happy Day!)

Feb 12, 2012 15:11

Man, I'm still tired and a little sore in odd places, but still happy from yesterday's event, The Festival of the Rose and Olde Timers Tourney, which was in Lake Balboa (northern Los Angeles area). It was a very good day for me. ( where I get long winded but share my happy news... )

Oh how wonderful!!! I'm so glad for you, for both the award & the championship. Definitely well-deserved & I'm sure you'll do an excellent job :)

Thank you.

I think I was told my job was to stand with the Queen's court, and make her look pretty (not that she needs any help). At least that's what one of the other Champions said in my hazy memory.

There were some Italian entries I think you will like. I'll be posting pics on FB soon.

Thank you.

And I met one of your new students, whose name I can't recall (I was very tired before afternoon court when we spoke). She was very into the research behind illuminated books, although she seemed nervous about actually trying scribal arts. I tried to be encouraging, and when she said she'd been speaking to you, I knew she was in great hands since you were the one to encourage me to it take up.

I did indeed, and learned quite a bit from those I spoke with.
