Good things about Hanford RoK 2009.

Trying to be positive to get my mind in a better place.

So, positive things about Hanford Ren of Kings faire (in no particular order).

1. The 3 ladies who sang various period songs all over the fair site. It's been too long since I heard singing going on at a local faire.
2. Seeing The Dragon's Treasure there, and they were in a prime and shady spot. I hope they did well.
3. People who complimented my dress, and wanted pictures.
4. People who asked questions about the embroidery I was doing.
5. Being told that Hanford RoK event was more fun for them than the Civil War event they attended the day before.
6. Being with and seeing old friends.
7. Out of Kontrol doing their stage gig. They can always make me laugh, even if it isn't period, and even if I have seen it many, many, many, many times before.
8. Watching Dee's staged elevation to "knighthood" as an honor from the cast and the city. If she'd been in the SCA, she would have long ago been given a Pelican for all the hard and selfless work she's done for that faire, and for the city; even through the cancer she suffered a few years back (where she lost her very long locks). I was so moved, I cried.
