Period stuff for the tailor's shop.

Period (medieval) sewing kit reproduction here. It has links to various merchants, but didn't find anything much more of interest among the merchants, except the pretty box that no longer is sold with the sewing kit. But I am thinking I should get a more period looking awl than what I have. I am keeping my tailors thimble.

Lacis has a "Dirk Knife, Renaissance Scissors" available on this page. Nifty looking, but is it really period?

There is the issue of a table sturdy enough to work on, but portable enough to fit into a regular car trunk. It will have to fold to do that. I have plans for a folding table and pair of benches that we made up some years ago for the MacLeod's (they kept it and I don't know what happened once the group ended). It is on the small end, but I don't really need a large table... do I? Hmmm... not if I am cutting things out at home for the most part.

I've been looking at working women's outfits. I want to dress nicer than simple craftsperson, but not gentry nice. Thankfully, I have lots of wool already on hand, from various greys, a red flannel, a little dark blue, green flannel, to a nice lightweight black gabardine, and can dye my linens to whatever. A basic kirtle will work for most of the period, and I can change the outer gown or jacket to match the time period, I think. And to think I have other costume plans I must do first. Hmmm... yeah, it will take awhile for me to get this *all* together.
