has passed on, near the end of my birth day, so I won't forget the date. He was at peace, and surrounded by those he loved... what more could be asked.

I am a gamer of many years, from 1978 when I first started in the summer of my 7th grade with my best friend and her older brother as GM, and all of his friends in high school. We started with the basic brown cover set (Chainmail, I think), although the new books of the AD&D DMG and Players Handbook came out fairly quickly after we started. Dave Arneson wasn't as widely known as Gary Gygax, but I knew his name, and felt his influence in the various game systems I've played ever since. Thank you Dave, for giving us those early fantasy rules, from which the role playing game industry has expanded upon, even to the computer games of today.
