Style ideas?

I have a question for the ladies here who are over the age of 29 (and you don't have to admit to your real age).

Who are your fashion icons? Who do you look to for your sense of fashion, or design sense, or whatever? Where do you find your clothing? Where do you learn about the latest hair cuts that look good on women that aren't teens or 20s?

When I was young, I wanted to be like my Mom. As I got older, and watched her get older, I realized that she was stuck in a time rut, put on her make up too heavy for my tastes, and was now wearing my old clothes (since at that point they fit her). And being hip and young at 14, I turned to those teen magazines for "fashion advice". I found and let my favorite gay hair stylist make me look pretty (and he was good) until I moved away from my home town (I wonder if he is still there).

But now... I have no clue where to go for IDEAS. Most magazines tell me what is in this season... if I was a runway model and thin and young. Most actresses are young and fresh, or IF they are my age, they have bodies I would have to work hours a day to get to. The best role model I can think of for a woman my age and weight... is Oprah, who has a great gay hair stylist, but I don't have her type of hair. And the usual "Oriental" cut doesn't work for wavy hair.

I want ideas, to try and get my mind going in some direction, but I have no idea where to look. Anyone here have any suggestions?
