Effigy bodies fitting (with pics)

I am wearing my effigy pair of bodies, and am amazed I was able to get the front to close within an inch or so to full closure, although I had to wait a bit for the bodies to warm up. The temp lacing strip is under strain, so I am glad I will be having my usual hand made ones. I did make this for a slightly skinnier me, but this is even close enough for me to feel good about it, so long as I maintain and not gain weight between now and April.

They are rigid! I am not used to this feeling, but it is not painful nor uncomfortable, but it will take a bit to get used to. I don't wear stays often anymore, and my cable tie ones I can bend over to tie my shoes. Not in this pair. But that's good. I am getting a better shape in it than I did in my old pair of bodies.

I am glad that the bones do not come up to the upper edge, especially around the armpit area. I think I will lower the bones at the upper corners nearest the armpits, to make sure they don't dig in. I have a little extra hangover there, and while I cut generously, it was a guess as to how generous to make the armholes. I am not feeling any problems under my armpit, so that's good.

The clipped tabs appear to be clipped to almost the right portion of my waist, so minor adjustments needed there. I can otherwise get to work on binding. I think I will pipe the back neck area, maybe, although it is hard to tell at this point if I will need to snug that area up. When the tabs (pinned to the shirt for now) are snugged up closer to the front, the back looks decent, but it is hard to tell in the mirror. And yes, the shoulder tab is short, as it was meant to be close, but not directly sewn to the front, and instead be laced to the front like the original.

So, I think this is good. I was taking photos when the batteries died out, so they are in recharge now. But unless there are problems with the photos I did manage to take, I think I can get out of this thing, and start binding it.

(a little later)
Whee! Photos are good! I took it off, got comfy, and here are the latest pics. They do not show that I did get the front laced closer, tho, which happened right before the batteries died.
