I've been haunted by the question one lady in a CoCo class asked me (it was Sarah's French hood class) as to what made me an authority in Tudor costuming, or something similar.
Its a real honour being asked to be special guest speaker, but I have asked myself exactly that same question. Especially when previous SGT's have been curator's of museums and written books. The only "book" I've been involved in was as pattern tester for TT - that does not count!
After discussions with the darling dalarnahorse123, I realised that NO ONE is an expert. In costuming, no one can be - not without a reliable time travel machine

Thank you a lot for your reply. Your words really mean a lot to me, and gives me stuff to think about.
And while we may be overlapping a bit in the class idea, it probably won't be too bad, since I am focusing on a more narrow time period. And then again, the CoCo people have final say on classes to be offered. I am not worried about it, as I think we will end up complimenting each others info, if anything.
