Sewing retreats or workshops in CA

Ok, keeping that sewing retreat in mind today, since I am still sick, and now am in a bad mood so I figured I would try to distract myself thinking about this... so I figured I would link the ones I've found in CA, so I can come back to this later.

ONLINE:
Online sewing classes with Pattern Review.

Northern CA:
Jane Foster Design: She has Sewing Labs, Sewing Weekends (nothing current), and offers a retreat to Asilomar twice a year. (note that I have a good friend who works at Asilomar, so that would be doubly fun).

The Sewing Workshop in San Francisco offers classes, some on weekends, but mostly one day ones. I may take their Fit Clinic next spring if nothing else. They also have classes on hand sewing, a retreat at Asilomar, color analysis, and a week long class Classic French Jacket with Susan Khalje, which looks tempting (tho very classicly modern).

So, looking up Susan Khalje, I see she offers classes all over the states, including the class above, and a class in Vista, CA for couture sewing.

Stone Mountain & Daughter has sewing classes, including some on the weekend. Longer classes are specific for modern clothing. I should check back in December to see next year's schedule.

Apparel Arts is also in S.F. They offer intensive courses that last a few days, which might be of interest. They normally offer courses that last months. If I lived in the Bay area, I would be very tempted. Actually, if I lived in the Bay area, there would be a number of fashion arts schools to choose from.

Southern CA:
The Sewing Studio. In Pasadena, but from the looks of the classes, more trendy than fitted. No long workshops.

The Susan Khalje class at Vista (north of San Diego, just south of Camp Pendleton) I mentioned above.

I remember seeing info on sewing expos in the LA area, but am not finding them. Oh, found one, just passed. And the info is pretty much short classes on a simple topic, not exactly what I was hoping for.

Fresno area:
There are quilting workshops in Clovis. There is one woman who teaches sewing classes only a couple of miles from me (by appointment). And there are a few sewing machine stores that offer sewing classes, but most of those are beginner or quilting oriented. The local Joann's has sewing classes for beginners, and Hancock's has classrooms, but only quilting classes at this time.

Ah, remembered that D&J Sewing has open sewing classes, including on Thursday evenings (4-8pm). But that is also in Clovis. Huh, I just realized that they moved their store to a location south of where I once worked.

And to round things off, I just emailed the FFG group, to see if anyone has any good suggestions for a retreat I didn't already find.
