Only 30 seconds for the press? And the press nearly pulled out all together, because the McCain camp only wanted photographers for a short bit. No questions to be taken from the press. Not even from Fox news, which we all know slants right.

I have to wonder, what is it that McCain and Palin are trying to hide, if they do not allow the press to talk to Sarah Palin. Photo ops with the UN people are nice, but people want to know more about Sarah. If she's good enough to be VP, she should be good enough to sit down and show her intelligence and knowledge, and not just her smile.

I am beginning to think she is more like McCain's Queen Consort, not VP choice, pretty to look at, but not to be thought of as anything more than that. And really, that is a shame, considering they are using her to hook female voters. As a female voter, I need more from the VP than to look pretty. I need to know they can run the country properly should something happen to the President.

Would we expect Hillary Clinton to have hidden in a press blackout for weeks at a time, if she had been Obama's running mate? I know, moot point, as she isn't. But she had to face the questions of the press, even when she didn't like the questions.

And to be honest, Dems are hiding Biden today, too, and he inserts foot into mouth at times, and also rambles on and on into oblivion.

But Biden has done interviews with the press, and Palin has only done so with two major press men, Charlie Gibson, and one other guy with the easy question about Obama (that was spoofed on The Daily Show).

If McCain can face the press questions, so should his running mate.
