Dishwasher issues

May 06, 2008 12:01

It looks like we will be supporting our local stores, as our dishwasher has a problem. It really is a minor problem, the cooling fan on top of the motor has died. But, it is made of plastic, and it cannot be replaced by itself. It has to be replaced as part of the whole motor unit, which after installation costs, would be almost as much as a new basic dishwasher unit. Talk about planned obsolescence. We've only had the dishwasher 5 years and already have to replace it. At least the repair guy was upfront and said to only buy a basic machine, as it isn't worth paying extra for bells and whistles most people don't use.

Well, off to make some lunch, and then back to house cleaning, or chasing down my daughter who wants to play in the pool (it is a smallish one).
