Gardening day

My garden is what I've been working on these past few weeks, instead of costuming. And after several years of neglect, it is finally starting to look like civilized land space instead of a haven for weeds.

Today, I spent a few hours clearing some of those weeds, setting a low garden wall with stackable bricks, watering and moving a pile of my compost heap so I could finally dig holes, add little pebbles, sand, and potting soil (mixed well) to make mounds to grow my Lavender 'Provence', so I can eventually make sachets, soaps and potpourri with them. I also left spacers for the four Lavender 'Grosso' that hopefully will be arriving soon.

Now I know why hard labor for one's garden is best done during the cooler months... because if I had to move all those bricks outside for the garden wall in anything warmer than the upper 60s we had today, I would have keeled over in an hour.

I also spent some time watering my veges and herbs, and moving lots of bricks around (those are darn heavy) so I could get to the weeds to get rid of. I also spent time on the couch nearly passed out from some of that work before lunch arrived, giving me enough energy to finish the job.

It looks nice in that area now, even tho it is unfinished. Now I need to figure out what I should put in the other blank areas of my yard. And eventually, some nice patio furniture, so I can be outside and enjoy our yard.

And now it is time for gaming. I am tired, but with some caffeine, I should be able to enjoy myself tonight.

ETA: And now I know why my weight is pretty much at the same level as a month before... it is the muscles I may actually be making from all this lifting, pushing, pulling, weeding, and more in that garden. Even my butt muscles are getting a workout (and are so very sore right now) Nice! Sore, but nice.

Oh, and my roses are blooming!
