My tush is a bit sore, from a lot of sitting, but I've managed to get through a whole box of my Mom's old papers. Which really was more old bills and papers of her husband, who died in the mid 90s. It was difficult to do in some ways, reading the old bills, remembering his stroke and the complications of dealing with that.
It was also cool to find a few notes from my Mom to Jerry, and a letter from his adult daughter to him, which felt like I was spying, although the letter was rather old, considering most of those papers came from the early 90s. I also found Jerry's military discharge papers, stating his military record (Marines, like my Dad).
And I found photos of me, from the prom of my date which was his Jr/Sr Prom, when I was but a Freshman (1981). Boy, did I have poofy hair, but I did have a nice figure then.
An odd trip down memory lane. Now to shred most of those docs, since they are of no use anymore, yet have sensitive info even if it is old.
