On the 100pounds2lose community, someone posed a question, which was:
"What things do you plan on doing that you could not do before once you lose the weight you'd like to? Name 5 of them!"

These are my answers.

1. To make a Victorian era costume, complete with proper underpinnings like a sexy fitted corset and enjoy it at our local Civil War event.
2. To enjoy a cruise on the high seas with my husband, sans kids, and not feel like I have to hide under a beach towel.
3. To ride my bike all over the city and country, without getting massively winded and sore.
4. To enjoy a Scottish country dance, or a polka, with my husband like we once did (hopefully with him wearing his great kilt).
5. Hiking at Yosemite up to Half Dome or Glacier Point to enjoy the sunset together.

#1 I have to wait for my weight to stabilize, but I can see doing the work next summertime after I've lost the weight. Then wear it next fall, and also get to wear it to Dickens, too.

#2 no immediate plans, as we already have major vacation plans for next summer.

#3 requires getting a working bike, or fixing my old one, but it would also be a great way to exercise.

#4.... well, polkas can be done at Dickens events, and a country dance can be enjoyed at a Scottish game, like next summer.

#5 we WILL be doing this next spring in May, for our yearly vacation to Yosemite trip. This will require getting into shape to do this over the winter, walking up hills, and making arrangements to stay the night in Yosemite at least one night. This means figuring that out asap, and getting the reservation in asap, if they aren't already sold out.

Most don't require me to be at my ideal weight to do. It just would make it easier to do if I am at a healthy weight and my body is in shape. I can't climb mountains if I haven't walked into a shape that won't scream when it gets to the top. It's nice to make plans like this. Now to make them come true.

"project: improving me!", health, todo
