Closer...
I am taking a break from the hand sewing. I've refitted the gown now, and am halfway done with hand sewing the large pleats in the back.
This time I really am making them the large pleats, now that I have seen Jane's backside and saw how those pleats looked. I still didn't do "proper pleats" by sewing the cartridges in first, just divide and conquer, like I usually do. Not so much divide and conquer this time, as I think I will have about 9 pleats total, or something like that.
Well, off to stretch a bit, take my meds, get a snack, and then get back to finishing this gown.
Tomorrow the final little bits of sewing will be done, but that's a couple of eyelets, and hand sewing the kirtle upper sleeves into place. Wow, no late night last minute sewing??? What's wrong with me. ;-) Oh, right... I am getting too old to do that anymore (hah, like that stopped me last time).
