Well, yesterday's scrubbing has made my ass sore... on the left side only. It may have been when I slipped just a bit on the wet tiles. It makes bending over to pick stuff up literally a pain there.
Today's work includes
a nice shiny sink, bleached and all, including the dish rack which is getting yellow from age (since the bleach barely touched the yellow except for the worst of it). I also cleared off my master bathroom counter, and scoured both sinks. Believe me, that one thing took nearly an hour to declutter and clean off properly, including the mirror. But part of that was stopping 'Elle from taking off with various things, like the Ajax.
I think I need to dump some of my old towels, although some of those might just work better as garage rags or something. You know, during the renaissance (and up until the modern age, really), there were people who would pick up the worst of the rags, and recycle them into paper. Hmmm... looking it up, they did that with linen fabrics. Interesting.
Anyways, it sparked an idea of maybe turning my old bath towels into fun towels for the kids, and maybe redyeing them or something to spark them into something nicer. They are just looking a bit ragged, and my linen closet is getting full whenever I have all my towels washed. Something maybe for my new serger to do.
Speaking of the serger, I pulled it out this afternoon to look at. I also watched the quicktime movies on the cd that came with it. It's supposed to only work on Windoze, but really, that's just to work them in proper order. I was able to watch them just fine on my mac. After I post this, I am going in there to actually use the thing, at least in some practice runs before making up my forepart and foresleeves.
Oh, and I did clean up part of my sewing room as well this afternoon, putting various things away, although my closet is so very maxed out on storage. This fall I really need to clear things out, measure stuff, and pack some things properly, and sell/give away some other things I know I won't use again. Maybe then I won't feel so cramped in there.
Well, time to get some dessert, then go play with the new toy, and maybe even do some actual sewing of stuff.
