Back Patio Work

Well, the shade awning I got faded pretty well in our hot sun. It went from deep forest green, to a light lime green. I may end up painting it next year, if I am so inclined. It also doesn't want to pack up nicely in its bags, especially the poles, which means making up a larger bag to fit them all, probably of canvas, not that plastic stuff. But it is packed and ready to be put away.

I also hosed down our two portable lounge chairs, which had grass growing and dying on them. I don't know if they will dry off quick enough in our cool temps today, but at least it will be nicer to put away in the garage, where they belong. The other patio chairs need to be dehaired from the cats, and also put away someplace. I just don't know where.

I've also put away various fertilizers, but the big bag of grass seed will have to wait for Rob to get home. For now it is under the table so it won't get too wet. He will need to deal with a few of his things out there as well, like the weed whacker?

We really need to get out of the habit of letting everything outside die out there. I don't mean the plants, which are doing ok, but the stuff the kids and adults take outside and leave to fade, crack, get dusty and die in our summer sun. Cam's old red rain boots will have to be tossed, and lots of old plastic cracked or crumbly stuff has to be swept up. It's a big chore to do, but needs to be done soon. I am sad that it takes an upcoming storm to make me realize all of this.

Well, Cam's home, so off for time with the kids.
