Corded doublet

Mar 13, 2007 01:13

I really like the cord that finally arrived. It's a beautiful, brilliant, multi-stranded gold cord, 3mm size, so it makes a bold statement on the doublet where I am placing it. I am putting it in pairs, with a space between, vertically down the fronts about 2" apart between sets. There will be short puffs of linen in between each pair of cords. I am putting Fray Check on the back where I've marked the puff slashes, and tomorrow I will be using my button hole cutter to make the slits needed. In period, I think they would have used gum arabic, and I thought of using that, but since it isn't for an historical competition or anything, Fray Check is just fine.

Anyway, I will be busy with the cord for awhile, but now it's bed time. And tomorrow begins the hunt for my digital camera. I can't remember where I put it! I want photos of what I am working on.
