Blah, housework
I really dislike doing housework. Yeah, it has to be done, but when I end up stuck doing the same aspects over and over again because someone or various someones clean up other areas by making a mess of the clean area, then it really gets to me. Not to mention laundry loads day in and day out.
I cleaned up last week a section of the counter, the part more in the kitchen. Then because I was sick on Saturday, the living room didn't get cleaned up by me in time, so c0demonkey pitched in and cleaned up for me, which I am thankful for. However, some of the cleanup stuff got put onto the clean counter area, along with soda bottles from the game group, and a bunch of other things. Then there was the mess from the dinner (which c0demonkey again pitched in and helped me clean up), and lets not forget the overflowing toys that end up in the kitchen and living room time and again.
I finally got around to cleaning up the kitchen and dining room areas about to what it was last Friday, so the counter area is clean again. I hope to get the floor swept and mopped in a bit as well, and perhaps tackle the other part of the counter and finally clear all that stuff up.
Storage... actually, I need more storage for adult stuff in our living room... the big bookcase is just not enough. I have plans for a wall unit above the sofa along the one wall, and I am thinking that the sofa tall table has to be replaced with a larger cabinet with doors to hide all the crap there.... like my Mom's old china cabinet.
But some of this will have to wait until we see what furniture we are bringing in, and going out, and how it will all sit.
I also seriously need to rethink a storage strategy for Cam's toys. Actually, I need to use the armoire that's still waiting in the garage for some of his toys, and teach him to pick up his toys at night.
So, until then, I deal with the mess...
