Rains and Flooding

It is worrisome to note that a couple of hours of heavy rain can actually cause severe instances of floods in Singapore.

Of course, for the younger Singaporeans, who never lived through the times when it was a relatively common occurrence, it must be quite a shock.

What really needs to be investigated is if it were climate change, or poorer drainage. If climate change is really to blame, then why are we so nonchalant about our environmental footprint as a nation? Energy Conservation Act aside, what are we really doing to mitigate the impact of climate change?
