Less Than Meets The Eye

I finally pulled my ass down to the cinema yesterday to watch Transformers: Dark Side Of The Moon. Premise was that the Autobots had a ship that tried to escape Cybertron during the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, but it crashed on the moon. The crash was detected by NASA, instigating the space race between the USA and USSR.

Of course, Sam Witwicky gets caught in it all, new girlfriend in tow. Give me Mikaela anytime over Carly. At least Mikaela is fiesty and kicks butt. Carly only goes around in sexy outfits and screams a lot. Why bother running around the decimated Chicago in high-heels? She should have been killed like so many others.

Dylan, Carly's boss is another incongruent character, who claims to have inherited a problem from his father. Yet, he would rather become a lead slave in the new Cybertronian Earth than to get rid of the Decepticons? This after he almost gets killed by the Decepticon onslaught on Chicago?

200 Decepticons were brought to Earth by the initial activation of the pillars and scattered throughout the world to activate the many other pillars. Yet, just 9 Autobots including two small robots manage to win the day?

How come the USAF could not get drones and other recon on Chicago due to the Decepticons, and yet a small band of NEST, SEALS and ex-NEST manage to take out many Decepticons?

With the plot full of holes, I wonder why this show even made so much money at the box-office. Sure, the special effects are good, but the story telling is awful!
