New Canon Lenses

Canon has updated its lens catalogue with some exciting new lenses. Amongst them, is the EF 8-15mm f/4L fish-eye lens, which is slated to ship in January next year. At 8mm, it captures a full 180˚ in a circle format on full-frame DSLRs. At 15mm, it does a fish-eye without any vignetting on the full-frame DSLR. There are also markings for taking a fish-eye effect without vignetting on the two other cropped sensor sizes. Price is estimated at about US$1100.

Well, it looks as if it will only be available next year at best. Not too concerned about the 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lens. The aperture size does not attract me in the least. Might as well go for the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens, or at least do the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM.

Other lenses that interest me are the TS-E24mm f/3.5L tilt-and-shift lens, the MP-E65mm f/2.8 and the EF17-40mm f/4L
