"For the first time...I feel...WICKED!!!"

Nov 17, 2005 10:22

Oh my gosh!  Wicked was AWESOME!!!  Wow...

Jamie and I drove to pick up her friend Lauren, and then we all headed over to the Fox Theater.  Combined, we only had $6.88, and parking was $7.00.  SNAP!  So we had to park 2 blocks from the theater and walk and it was freezing cold.  I think my hands are still numb.

But Jamie picked up the tickets and we waited around in the lobby for doors to open.  The Fox Theater is GORGEOUS.  After doors opened, we went and found our seats.  Make-A-Wish is a grand ole organization, because our tickets were 7 rows from the stage and cost $70 each.  Chyah!

Like I said, the show was amazing and I recommend it to all.  Hah, it totally changed my perspective about Wizard of Oz completely.  Poor Wicked Witch of the West...

Then afterward, we got to go backstage.  We got taken up to Kendra's (Glinda's) dressing room and she gave us posters that the entire cast had signed, along with 2 photos of the play.  Then she took us on stage and showed us some of the "behind-the-scenes" stuff.  It was really fantastic.

And then we came home.  Weee!!!  But it was a joyous evening, and totally better than me sitting in my room trying to find ways of procrastinating the paper that's due in 3 hours.  Uh...uh...

This is the curtain before Wicked started.

Kendra (Glinda) with Jamie, Lauren, and me.  (Yeah, Jamie and Lauren are really that short...or...I'm really that tall...?)

Sa-WEET!!!

In other news, my horoscope is so accurate, YET again: It's time to talk about whatever has been keeping you awake at night and away from the one you love. You've tried to handle it alone, and that obviously hasn't worked. It's time to either tell them about it, or find some help. . . . That last full Moon convinced you that it was finally time to bring up the topic you'd been avoiding -- that elephant in the room that you and your sweetheart have not been able to mention. Well, here's your opportunity. Clear your throat and start, right back at the beginning. It may be tough to get the show on the road, but just imagine how relieved you'll both be when it's all finally been said."

Okay, so that stuff won't really happen until tomorrow.  BUT STILL!!!
