Absolutely gorgeous. The piece itself in the movie is beautiful but with added cello by Yo Yo Ma......*is relaxed*

Oh yeah, as if Morricone's music isn't sad enough as it is *g* I love chello, though (it's so melancholic) and it suits the music beautifully, but of course I prefer the original :P

interesting,I don't find Morricone's music sad at all, just beautiful and serene, same with cello. silverlukas also commented when I posted Dreamcatcher song by Secret Garden that it was sad which I didn't feel at all...must check my sadness factor*g*

It's because it's so beautiful it comes off as incredibly melancholic to me. It hurts to listen to. I've felt like that with his music all since childhood. When it's been a while between hearing and I put it my chest hurts and I usually cry. But after having listened to a few numbers I sort of get "numb" to the effect.

The same thing happened with this Huun Huur Tu song. The first time I heard it I completely broke down crying. It was like I was mentally or emotionally unprepared for the impact it would have on me, it just released something inside of me. Afterwards the feeling was completely gone and I can't relieve it now. But I can always relive it with Morricone when a good time has passed since last I heard it ( ... )

silverlukas - that's me! *beams*

I'd call this music majestic and uplifting, and only a very little sad. I'm now listening to other versions in youtube-- I should see the Mission finally :P

And I also pronounced Brothers in Arms to be sad - you find it not sad too? What about Every night in my dreams I see you I feel you? XD XD

Btw if you received weeks ago e-mail notice stating "VixenMulder is now following you in Twitter" that was me too. (not that it matters)
