Shine 15 | The Sun in the Sky

[1[You'll find Sora on the deck atop the still-stranded Chalice. She's dressed in a loose top and comfortable shorts, which is not at all her usual training attire. What's she up to...?] Okay, I think I've got them ready. I don't wanna cheat by having better-than-normal reflexes and such, so... [Without being in form, she struggles for a moment

Wow...

[And Hana's sitting there, watching Sora climbing her stairs of sorts. And she's impressed by it all!]

[Sora doesn't notice Hana just yet; after a few more bounds, she's some distance away from the Chalice and very much above it. She creates one more step, a little higher above, and jumps at it... and shoves off the side, corkscrewing back toward the Chalice for a little bit until she come out of it with a giddy look on her face... and then sees Hana as she continues falling, giving a little wave. She doesn't seem at all concerned that she's on course to splat on the deck a few feet away from her teammate.]

Sora...!

[Hana, on the other hand, IS! She starts sprinting towards her falling teammate, intending on catching her... if she could. If she could get to her.]

I-I got you!

[sunshine_maiden]

I think I can stick this...! [This close, Hana can see that Sora's hands are still glowing a bright, sunny yellow, and the girl gestures out toward the deck, a few feet above where Hana's head is now. And just as she approaches, there's one more grooved shield there, which she grabs with a hand, tucks in her legs, flips up and over her handhold, and lands perfectly on one knee about three feet in front of Hana.]

[She then proceeds to rub the shoulder above the arm she made the grab with as she stands.] Okay, I had a little too much speed there still... Hi, Hana.

[latelybloomed]

[And as Sora makes the landing, Hana can only gawk in surprise, eyes wide and her glasses slipping down her nose slightly... before her knees give way and she drops to the ground.]

...wow... that... that was cool...

[sunshine_maiden]

Hehe. Come on back up, Hana. [She kneels to pick Hana up, holding her head after a moment.] Whoa, headrush... Okay, that's enough fun for a few more minutes.

You liked that, though? It's something I've been working on since the battle against those weird black units.

[Hana accepts Sora's offer, getting back to her feet as she does.]

That was something... I never thought you could do something like that...

I've been doing a lot of training lately... and I had this ready, and I wanted a break. I haven't named it yet, though. It's all shields, though. [She generates another one between them.] They're grooved so I can grip them.

[latelybloomed]

Oh!

[She can't help but step back as Sora brings up the barrier between them. Curiosity gets the better of her, though and she goes to grip one.]

Wow... I'm impressed!

Mm. I'm happy with them. They work a lot better than I thought they would. I'd offer to let you try, but I don't know how you'd take the shields... and I can't explain them anyway.

[She blushes at the praise, though.]

It's okay, Sora. Maybe I'd find some way to make my own...

[And she can't help but chuckle at how Sora's blushing.]

That'd be interesting... I don't know that we need too many people with shields, though. Having handholds for emergencies might be nice, though...

And what are you laughing at...! It's not that funny... is it?

Having those with shields would be a great asset. Especially since some of us tend to charge into things haphazardly. And using it like that might be a great help.

[And she quickly goes to defuse the situation...!]

Oh, no, no... I'm not laughing at the idea! I'm laughing at you blushing! Did I embarrass you?

That... might be true, yeah. I'll have to see. Maybe a delayed Itsuki Protection or something. Have them expand.

[Sora colors further.] I, um... A little.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to! I'm just so impressed with what you can do...

Thank you, Hana. That means a lot to me. I've been feeling kinda useless since... [She gazes down at Dr. Bian's facility; another weak wall collapses within.]

...since that happened. So I've been training, to keep something like this from happening again, if I can help it.
