3x4 → Requisition Request

Jul 22, 2011 21:53

[ Char had spent the last week or so combing over the specs of his completed MSN-02 Perfect Zeon Char Custom, and had finally come up with a way to possibly upgrade the Zeong to allow for the use of melee weapons without compromising its own firepower. Due to the fact that the Zeong has megaparticle guns in each of its fingers, a traditional beam ( Read more... )

Adette Walks briskly through the hall way, her bright red coat and enormous hat make her stick out like a sore thumb. Her face is flushed from the cold outside, and her fingers shake with numbness. But her mission is far from over. Down the hall she sees a thin man coming towards her and she duck back behind a corner for a moment, and then realizing she had no where else to go, walked back out int he hall way trying to look as lost as possible. Although she was in fact lost, Adette wasn't the kind of woman to just ask directions, unless it would benefit her.
Instead of saying anything she looked left and right, pretending to not even seen the blond man in the red jacket.
"I wonder where I made the wrong turn at, now I'll never be able to find Gainer."

Well, Char certainly liked her sense of style. Being in this frigid environment wasn't much different from being in space, but it was still earth; and likewise, it was still somewhere he would rather not be, if it could be helped. The clipboard in his hands, Char turned just as he saw the woman come back out of hiding. He raised an eyebrow behind his sunglasses, but made no thought of it. Her question, while directed at no one in particular, was painfully obvious in its intent. It caused Char to stop in the hallway, and tucked the clipboard between his arm and his side. "I'm afraid I can't help there," Char said. "I'm on my way to speak with the Captain."

Adette turned around and acted startled.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" She looked at him with a doe eyed expression. "I didn't mean to get in your way. My apologies." Well he was no Yasuba Jin, but Adette had to admit, he was terribly handsome, in his own way.
And then afraid she might miss her chance, or that the man may report her to the crew and captain, she changed her strategy. "Wait-!!" She reached out to him, her ice cold fingers reaching out for his shoulder.

Char flinched at her cold fingers, but being rather used to discomfort in many forms, he didn't jerk her hand away. "It's... it's quite alright," Char replied, unsure of what to say. Either she had some form of life-or-death question, or she was really, really bad with socializing. "Is there something wrong?" he asked, taken aback by the touchy-feelyness. That said, at least she was fairly attractive, or he'd be less inclined to tolerate it.

"I-" She pulled her hand away, and used her upper arms to press together her ample cleavage, which heaved against the zipped of her jacket and forced it open slightly ( ... )

This was the most overly dramatic display Char had ever seen. Doing the gentlemanly thing and catching her as she fell, he flinched as she clearly and obviously pressed her womanly assets into him, causing him to shift her position so that it wasn't quite as obvious that it did have an effect on him. Char was a man, after all, and he wasn't immune to a woman's charm.

... Physically, anyway. Not pushing her away - it would be rude, after all - he looked into her face, his eyebrows narrowing a bit. "If it's shelter you want, all you needed to do was ask," he half-scolded, half-pointed out. Sighing, he looked over her shoulder, towards the lounge. "I suppose my requisition forms can wait," he said. He did have a back-up saved on his own private account aboard the White Chalice in case anything happened to it... he only felt he had a better chance of it being accepted if he delivered it in person.

Why didn't I think of that? She laughed at herself inwardly, it had worked, so either way, she was the victor. The way he flinched, and touched her nervously Adette knew she had him on the line now, which meant she was safe for the time being ( ... )

This was getting ridiculous. The attempted seduction was bad enough, but this was too much. If it weren't for the sunglasses, he would have appeared exasperated and unimpressed. It was probably a security risk to let her do as she pleased onboard the ship, but until then, he could simply watch over her himself until she became someone else's problem.

"I already agreed," Char conceded, even though it wasn't exactly his place to do so. "If you like, I'll escort you to the medical bay." Security was fairly strong there. If she tried anything, she'd be stunned in minutes.

Char sighed. He looked at her for a few seconds, his expression visible even behind the sunglasses. "What exactly did you do?" he asked. If she was an enemy of the White Chalice, he'd take her in himself. But if someone else was after her, well... Char did know what that was like. He half expected to be slapped in cuffs and shipped to the Federation the moment he arrived on the White Chalice, even though he was fully aware the White Chalice wasn't affiliated with them aside from being in good diplomatic standing. He was every bit as pleasantly surprised as anyone would expect when he was not only allowed to join them, but was practically given a VIP treatment by the other crew members. The captain's senility likely had something to do with that.

Char awaited her answer, his eyebrow raised.

Char considered that for a moment. But ultimately, he shook his head. "I'm aware you were cold, and even if you were a criminal, I doubt the captain would leave out there to die. But you didn't answer my question." He crossed his arms.

"If you were simply seen as a deserter, the White Chalice would have no reason to turn you over. You must have done something quite wrong to warrant he amount of paranoia you're showing."

Char held up his hand. "Calm down. I'm not going to turn you in, and likely, neither will anyone else here." He then placed that hand on her shoulder, and directed her towards the lounge. "I myself was in a similar position before I officially enlisted." As if his uniform wasn't enough to give that away.

"I was an ace pilot with the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. I was known as the 'Red Comet,' Char Aznable." He tried to smile, to reassure her as well. "If Captain Weston didn't turn me away, he won't turn you away, either."

Char nodded, understanding. "I'm in a similar position. I'm considered a deserter by the Zeon remnants, even after I was to help them rebuild." Char shook his head somewhat, but joined her, just in time to see her slightly revealed thigh. Char swallowed another lump in his throat. He had enough class not to show that he was looking - not that it was entirely obvious behind his sunglasses - but it was hard not to look at a woman as gorgeous as Adette. "I didn't agree with the direction Haman Karn was leading them. It is nothing but a slight variation on the tyrannical policies of the Zabi dynasty."

Char didn't exactly owe his life to anyone; Lalah was already dead, and wherever Artesia was, she was beyond his reach. It was both liberating, and somewhat depressing. "In any case, I'm sure you are safe here. I wouldn't have brought you to the lounge if I had thought any differently."
