The GDF went to investigate the Mendal Colony, and encountered both Blue Cosmos and ZAFT, and were caught between the two forces. Kira and Quatre went to investigate the colony and encountered ZAFT commander Rau le Crueset, who revealed the purpose of the facility was the creation of the "ultimate coordinator," a project that had only two survivors, a pair of twins. Kira Yamato, he said, is one of them.
Outside, the GDF forces fought back the attackers with aid from SMS's Ozma Lee, turning the tides and driving them away just in time for a swarm of Vajra to appear and attack Frontier. Swiftly moving to the colony's defense, they managed to drive the Vajra off as well, though not before suffering some injuries.

Further Notes
-Quatre Winner suffered several gunshot wounds, but will be healed within a week's time.
-Ozma Lee's Valkyrie was badly damaged by a Vajra and he sustained heavy injuries. Normally it'd take two weeks to heal all the damage but he's doing better than expected and will likely be combat-ready within a week.
