It is kind of... no, extremely irritating that people are insulting neverwiser's intelligence and common sense based on her posting "Dating Luke Snyder" on lure_atwt, seeing as readers, including myself, thought it was perfectly acceptable as well -- and therefore by extension are also being insulted.
And seeing as I have a similar story in the works that I've been working on for months (post-canon, Reid is dead, and Luke has a new boyfriend) that I planned to post on lure_atwt as well, I definitely take offense.
Her story, and mine, are heavily focused on LuRe. Mine more so I think (can't explain much, for I plan to at least post it on my personal journal), but I still view DLS as a LuRe story, just of a different nature. Stories about Luke moving on post Reid's death, just not with someone, are acceptable, regardless of how little Reid is in it (such as 'Standing Still'), but stories like DLS are not. I don't understand. Both are showing how Luke handled Reid's death, how he moved on -- one just has him with someone, happy, at the end, while others don't.
I understand why some would not want to read it, but I feel like the lines are too vague as to what is okay and what is not, because stories that are so similar are being judged differently based on emotional response (ie. if Luke has moved on to someone new or now) and not based on content.
And over all, the most infuriating part of all of this, is the disrespect. I admit, I posted something that was harsh and rude, and I apologized for it and ultimately deleted it. However, my apology was even spoken down to, and I am still being attacked for simply disagreeing with others' opinions. I do not think that an exception should be made. What I do think, is that this particular story does not violate the rules to begin with, that is my opinion, and I believe it is a valid one. However, obviously the mods have the final say. I will respect their decision. What I will not respect is the way I am being put down and insulted for simply having an apparently less-than-popular opinion on the matter.
Goodness. I don't like drama.
I'd just like to say that I still ultimately respect everyone in the lure_atwt comm. I may be annoyed with certain members right now, but I truly did not comment with the intention of insulting or bashing anyone or starting any arguments. I just hope that this post (on my private blog where I am entitled to rant and did so without name-calling or pointing fingers, thank you very much) is not also used against me.
