I have a job.
Its a short term (and in short term i mean one week) contract at Healesville Sanctuary on one of the bird rounds (i'm on wetlands - so i get to help look after the wetland aviary and a few other nice aviaries too).
My favourite birds are now: swift parrots, apostlebirds and lyrebirds. I just want to squish them they're that cute!
So - happy that i got a job at least for a little while, they said my contract may get extended but not to get my hopes up or anything.
Hopefully the RS don't mind me swapping shifts and cancelling a bit - hopefully i don't get fired cos that would suck majorly - i (surprisingly enough) actually like working there.
Umm ... got to use a radio the other day (was probably a tad too excited - i think the other keepers think i'm a weirdo - which i am ... so no biggie).
Think thats about it for now. I think i only got asked because they were super desperate and they probably thought that they could get my contract out of the way (long story) but will hopefully make the most of things.
Am happy because i never thought i'd work at any zoo, even if its only for a week.
