Colorado Mammoth / Surgery recovery

Apr 10, 2008 08:55

I have a lot to cover in this journal entry, haha. Well, last Thursday Kristi texted me and asked if I wanted to go to
the Colorado Mammoth game with her and of course I said yes. She's been a season ticket holder for like, ever now and I guess the girl she was going to go with had to go put her dog down. Sad day :( But, I was really pumped to:

[x] Go to my first lacross game.
[x] See the Mammoth live.
[x] See the inside of the Pepsi center for the first time.

I find hockey kind of boring after a while except for the fighting. But lacross seems way more exciting to me. I can actually sit and watch a whole game lol! I love that they're always smacking each other with their sticks and stuff. It's an interesting sport.

So the game was phenomenal. I don't even remember the score but we kicked the other team's butt. They were like... the Night Hawks or something, shoot I don't remember but we demolished them. Half time was really fun too because all these little doggies came out to do something called Fly Ball where they run really fast over these jumps.

They go so fast! LOL. I couldn't get any good pictures so I had to take a video. Good thing my camera has that option lol. So after Fly Ball and the game, Kristi and her family took me down to the Blue Sky Grill (I think that's what it's called) to see the Mammoth players. They always do their little interviews down there after games. I got to see some pretty hot athletes close up!!

That's Gavin Prout, the team captain. I also go to see this one guy whose last name is Langtry, he's a really good player, but I don't remember what his first name is lol.

All in all, going to the Mammoth game was a lot of fun and I hope to see another game soon! The season is almost over though I think, so maybe next year! I'm really glad Kristi asked me to go with her. It was a nice little fling before having to go to surgery the next morning....

Surgery went just fine. I got all four of my wisdom teeth out. It was quick and there were no problems. I can remember hearing a "cracking" noise for my bottom left one, and then I remember tools poking around in my mouth... but it was all so vague because of the sedation of course. I only took my percocet that day and that night so I could get some rest. The worst things of all were:

[x] Not being able to eat real food.
[x] The corners of my mouth hurt. One side ripped a little.

My recovery has gone perfectly. Its almost a week later now and I'm feeling good. My stitches are finally dissolving. I didn't get dry socket. The only real discomfort I'm experiencing now is that my jaw is really stiff and sore from being pried open. The corners of my mouth are much better but they still get pretty chapped. Tomorrow is my follow-up appointment so that the doctor can look and see if everything is healing alright.

I still have to write about the Rockies game we went to - but for your sake I think I should end this entry here haha. It's long! I'll write about the Rockies and post pictures to that tomorrow.
