I was pleased to find this
article online today about Beverly Cleary turning 90. I absolutely LOVED her books when I was younger, especially any of the ones about Ramona Quimby. I remember liking the illustrations a lot, too-Ramona and her family vaguely resembled Cabbage Patch dolls, because they were all drawn to be sort of round and cuddly-looking. Dear Mr. Henshaw was also really interesting to me...back then I didn't know many people whose parents were divorced, and California seemed like it was halfway around the world.
In other news, I saw this other
item online today that talked about how American fast food has a higher fat content that fast food overseas. Ironically, it made me crave french fries and I ended up going and getting a QP with cheese for lunch. I felt like I should cover my head with a coat or something as I walked over there so no one would see me, since I'm supposed to be a good role model in the nutrition area and all. Oh well.
