Time to brush up on my kitchen slang?

Oct 19, 2008 21:49

I decided about twenty minutes ago that I'd like to make some blueberry muffins. We have mix, I have time, I'd like to have a muffin before work tomorrow. So why not?

We don't have any paper muffin cups, but this shouldn't be a problem, since I own a set of silicone ones. But...hell if I know where they are. So I texted Tiff, since she unpacked the kitchen and we haven't used them since we moved in.

Me: Sorry to bug you, but...muffin cups?

Tiff: Under the punt

Me: Punt?

She still hasn't responded. If you can tell me what she means, I will be eternally grateful. Because I still don't know where the damn cups are. And yes, I could just grease the tin and go without cups, but I don't want to. So there.

Edit: I eventually found them in the drawer under the oven (where I'd looked already, apparently not closely enough). Still no explanation of punt...

Edit 2: Apparently she thought she typed "oven" but her phone, via its fabulous word recognition feature, said "punt". So when I replied with "Punt?", she was thinking, "Is she watching football?"

cuisine, good grief
