Why some men think we're all crazy...
Today I was throwing together a presentation at the last minute doing some minor last-minute revisions to a presentation I am scheduled to do at another college tomorrow (for $$$, believe it or not) when I came across this very timely opinion piece in the Freep. It simultaneously made me sad, and made me want to throw things. I can't say I don't understand what this young woman is saying at all- I know that realistically, once "the chase" is over, some of the mystery is gone. But it just sounds like she isn't even willing to give relationships a try for fear that she'll be disappointed. I mean, I've been there myself from time to time, but she seems so defeated.
I call the piece timely, by the way, because my presentation is about the decline of dating and the proliferation of hookup culture on college campuses. I feel as though her first paragraph about the bagel sums it up..and also makes her look, well, kind of inconsiderate. I mean, she just LEFT the bagel? Whatever.
